July Jen?

July Jen actually named Jennie Johansson, is a Swedish singer-songwriter based in Madrid, crafting pop with funk and electro influences - think intimacy with a pulse. After more than a decade singing at weddings and private events, the lead singer of the Madrid based band Rigodón, stepped into launching her solo career with first debut single Commitments in 2024. Her debut EP is set for release in winter 25/26.

Born and raised in Sweden - the land of pop hooks - she grew up surrounded by melody and although music has been part of her life for as long as she can remember, she waited to share her own until the timing felt true.

Drawing inspiration from artists like Dua Lipa, Robyn, Charlie Puth, as well as her favorite band the Red Hot Chili Peppers, July Jen's sound merges catchy toplines with funky grooves and a hint of retro. Beyond the production, it's her lyrics that cut through - rooted in real-life emotions, growing pains, and quiet resilience.

“I started late, but maybe right on time,” Jennie says. Her journey isn’t about chasing trends, but about catching up with her own voice.

July Jen’s live shows began with her debut in April 2024 in a stripped-down version of her songs in acoustic format. Concerts are given in acoustic format, as well as full band or backing tracks depending on the occasion.
